For 22 years, the Toyota Camry has been the top-selling sedan in the US. The new 2025 Toyota Camry builds on this success by transitioning exclusively to hybrid, offering an athletic exterior style, a redesigned interior, and new technology features.
Overview Toyota Camry 2025
The Toyota Camry Hybrid remains a popular option for its affordability, spaciousness, and efficiency. In 2025, this family sedan receives a fresh look and reinforces its reputation for efficiency by offering only two hybrid options, compared to its previous lineup that included a V-6 and both hybrid and non-hybrid four-cylinder engines. The new hybrid-only Toyota Camry, available in front- or all-wheel drive, can deliver up to 232 horsepower.
Toyota may introduce a more powerful plug-in hybrid Camry Prime this time. The interior has been updated with modern infotainment technology and styling inspired by the larger Crown sedan. Despite these changes, the Toyota Camry Hybrid remains a mid-size car that aims to compete with rivals like the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, VW Passat, Kia Optima, and Hyundai Sonata, and Camry prices start at $28,400.

DeJongh says the ninth-gen Toyota Camry uses smaller and lighter-weight hybrid components, including a smaller battery that nonetheless produces more power than before. As a result, the new drive system relies more heavily on this more efficient battery and those electric motors, and that means a reduction in noise and a quicker throttle response.
In practice, there is indeed satisfying low-end power that gets the Toyota Camry up and moving with ease, though acceleration plateaus beyond 50 mph or so. The four-cylinder drone still permeates the cabin if you stay on the gas pedal for longer durations. Still, there is plenty of pickup for merging and passing. The cabin stays quiet and serene, even while on the highway, and you should have no difficulty holding a conversation at normal volume from the back seat with front passengers.

Amazing fuel efficiency from all models
Toyota has faced criticism for its slow adoption of electric vehicles. However, the transition to a 100% hybrid lineup marks a significant milestone. The least fuel-efficient version of the Toyota Camry Hybrid achieves 43 mpg in mixed highway and city driving, according to EPA estimates. The most popular models achieve 46 or 47 mpg in city/highway driving for front- or all-wheel-drive models, respectively.
